Regissør Endre Skandfer kommer fra Harstad, og han kommer tilbake til hjembyen og presenterer filmen sin til film-glade barn i Harstad på festivalen. Han leser litt fra boken «Dunder» og snakker med barna etter filmen om hva de syns om det som skjedde i filmen.

Director Endre Skandfer comes from Harstad, and he comes back to his hometown and presents his film to film happy children in Harstad at the festival. He reads a bit from the book "Dunder" and talk with the children after the movie about what they think about what happened in the movie.

I denne svært vakre og underholdende animasjonen, i Russland i 1882, møter du Sasha som drømmer om Arktis og grubler over skjebnen til bestefaren. Han var en anerkjent forsker og polfarer som forsvant på sin siste ekspedisjon for å erobre Nordpolen. Sasha har alltid vært fascinert av den eventyrlige livet til bestefaren, og kjenner kallet: å være en oppdagelsesreisende. Sashas foreldre derimot ønsker at hun skal gifte seg inn i aristokratiet. Uredde Sasha trosser sin skjebne og flykter hjemmefra, og legger ut på en eventyrlig reise mot Nord, på leting etter bestefaren og skipet hans.

A fearless young female hero challenge the Arctic!

In this very beautiful and entertaining animation, set in Russia in 1882, you meet Sasha who dreams of the Arctic and ponders over the fate of his grandfather. He was a renowned scholar and explorer who disappeared on his last expedition to conquer the North Pole. Sasha has always been fascinated by the adventurous life of his grandfather, and feels the call: to be an explorer. Sasha's parents however want her to marry into the aristocracy. Fearless Sasha defy his fate and fleeing from home and embarks on a journey to the North, in search of his grandfather and his ship.

Dette er en visuelt unik film som er skutt foran et 'grønt lerret', og det visuelle utrykket er noe så sjeldent som en blanding mellom et dataspill og et teaterstykke. Filmen er en ungdomsfilm, men er verdt å se for voksne også, mye på grunn av det unike visuelle uttrykket, men filmen er også sterk og engasjerende, og til ettertanke.

Marcus Romer er regissør, forfatter og filmskaper, og kommer på AMIFF og presenterer filmen "The Knife that Killed Me" som han regisserte sammen med Kit Monkman. Marcus spesialiserer seg på å utforske digitale uttrykksformer i teater og film. Les mer om Marcus under.

Handlingen i filmen:
Paul Vardeman flytter og starter på en ny skole der han blir involvert med "The Freaks", outsiders som ikke passer inn. Samtidig tiltrekker han seg oppmerksomheten til skolens bølle, Roth. Konfrontert med økende press fra begge gruppene, må Paul bestemme hvor hans vennskap ligger, en beslutning som kan koste livet.

I forbindelse med sitt besøk på AMIFF, gir Marcus et lukket skuespillerkurs til elever på teaterlinja på Harstad Folkehøgskole og siste året på teaterlinja på Heggen vgs.

This is a visually unique film that is shot in front of a 'green screen', and the visual expression is something as rare as a mix between a computer game and a stage play. The film is for teenagers, but is worth seeing for adults too, largely because of the unique visual expression, but also because the film is strong and engaging, and it gives food for thought.

Marcus Romer is a director, writer and filmmaker, and comes to AMIFF and presents the film "The Knife That Killed Me" which he directed together with Kit Monkman. Marcus specializes in exploring digital forms of expression in theater and film.
 

ABOUT MARCUS ROMER

Marcus is a director, writer and filmmakr, currently Creative Director of ArtsBeacon UK, delivering Live to Digital projects.

Prior to this he was CEO and Artistic Director of Pilot Theatre, where he directed many award winning theatre productions. These included Lord of the Flies, Antigone, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Romeo and Juliet, Looking for JJ. He also pioneered live streaming and webcasting from 2008.

As a filmmaker he wrote the screenplay and co-directed the feature film ‘The Knife That Killed Me’ which was released by Universal Pictures in 2015. He recently co-produced ‘The Works’ starring Ralph Fiennes, which is on BBC iplayer as part of Shakespeare Lives season

He is a published playwright and his work has been translated and performed across Europe and the USA

Marcus is a regular speaker and presenter on the use of digital technology in the Arts, and has spoken all over the world, most recently for Innovation Norway in Tromsø in January 2016.

"Insightful portrait of a footballing colossus" - The Guardian

This is a 2016 Swedish independent coming-of age sports documentary about Swedish International association football player Zlatan Ibrahimović. The film was directed by brothers Fredrik and Magnus Gertten and follows Ibrahimović through his formative years with football clubs Malmö FF and AFC Ajax all the way to his break through with Juventus F.C. in 2005.

The film has been featured at several film festivals including the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Helsinki Documentary Film Festival and the Rouen Nordic Film Festival.

The film tells the story of Swedish association football player Zlatan Ibrahimović, during his formative years, through archival footage, including rare interviews with a young Ibrahimović where he speaks about his personal life and the obstacles he has meet along the way. The film follows Ibrahimović from his debut with Swedish club Malmö FF in 1999 through is turbulent years with Dutch club AFC Ajax all the way up to his break through with Italian club Juventus F.C.. The film follows him as a troubled youth with seemingly insurmountable challenges faced in his private life all the way to his break through as an International star on the global stage. As a talented young player Ibrahimović is faced with constant pressure of living up to his expectations, while balancing the challenges he faces at home and in his career path.
