Gullpalme-vinneren på Cannes filmfestival i år!

Julia Ducournau, som tok Cannes med storm i 2016 med debuten RAW, er nå tilbake med en unik og grenseoverskridende ny thriller. TITANE vil sjokkere og overraske – ingen vil forlate kinoen uberørt.

Filmen skildrer Alexia (Agathe Rousselle) som barn blir alvorlig såret i en bilulykke og får operert inn en titaniumplate i hjernen. Som ung har hun utviklet seg til en slags seriemorder, men under en flukt fra myndighetene endrer hun sitt utseende og påstår å være den forsvunnede sønnen til en traumatiseret brannmann (Vincent Lindon).

Snart eskalerer alt ut av kontroll og TITANE utvikler seg til noe som garantert aldri tidligere er sett på film…

About the film:

Following a series of unexplained crimes, a father is reunited with the son who has been missing for 10 years. Titane : A metal highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with high tensile strength alloys.

When, in 2012, the Ivy House pub is closed and to be converted into flats, the community steps in and reclaims it as their own. Filmmaker Sarah Turner, in collaboration with users of the pub, presents a poetic document of local cooperative resistance and of a community asserting artistic, social and political agency over its right to exist.

Artists in conversation with curator after screening: Birgitte Sigmundstad og Maren Dagny Juell

The programme takes its title from a film by Marte Aas. A future version of a world where humans are gone and where a lone dog describes what she misses and what she does not miss about humans. The film is from 2017, but could just as easily have been made during the pandemic. What have we missed and what can we do without? And what does is it actually mean to return to normal? What have we learned, if anything? I have chosen to show five works by four artists that in different ways can relate to this years theme and these questions. The program is based on works by artists who have exhibited or who will be exhibiting at Atelier Nord. The event will be conducted in English.
