Sabrina van der Ley (51) er ansatt som ny direktør i Stiftelsen Sør-Troms Museum fra 1. september 2018. Hun kommer fra stilling som avdelingsdirektør for samtidskunst ved Nasjonalmuseet, hvor hun har vært ansatt siden 2011. Sabrina van der Ley kan vise til bred nasjonal- og internasjonal ledererfaring fra ulike kultur- og museumsinstitusjoner, hvor hun har innehatt roller som avdelingsdirektør, daglig leder, kunstnerisk leder, kurator, produsent, redaktør og formidler. Hun har solid erfaring med drift og utvikling av kulturinstitusjoner, museer, private kunstsamling og kunstmesser. Hun har en kunst- og litteraturhistorisk utdanning med en Master of Arts fra Universitetet i Köln.
Hun har siden 2012 vært medlem av faglig råd i Lofoten International Art Festival ved Nordnorsk Kunstsenter i Svolvær, og har et stort engasjement og hjerte for Nord-Norge. For øvrig har hun vært engasjert i rekke verv, styreposisjoner og vært medlem i ulike kunst- og kulturråd og har et betydelig nettverk både i Norge og internasjonalt.

Sabrina van der Ley (b. 1967, Germany) is currently Dirctor of Sør-Troms Musuem (Museum of south Troms), and former Director of Contemporary Art at the Nasjonalmuseet in Oslo. She also has served as Chief Curator of Galerie der Gegenwart, Hamburger Kunsthalle and Artistic Director of Art Forum Berlin. Exhibitions she has curated include Unfinished Journeys and I Wish This Was A Song - Music in Contemporary Art, both at Nasjonalmuseet, as well as retrospectives of Pedro Cabrita Reis, Rodney Graham and Attila Csörgö, a solo exhibition with site specific wall drawings by David Tremlett and All Art Has Been Contemporary, which combined works from the contemporary collection of Hamburger Kunsthalle with those from the collections of Old Masters, 19th century and classical modernism.
In addition to the organizational and curatorial work, van der Ley has been actively engaged in cultural policy and has been involved in the Capital Culture Berlin, Berlin Curators`Jour-Fixe, the Council for the Arts Berlin and the steering committee for creative industries of the Senator for Economics of Berlin. In 2005, she received the Gold Cross of Merit from the Republic of Poland for her work towards improving German-Polish relations in the context of contemporary art.
