Camilla Fagerli

The festival’s director Helene Hokland has invited Camilla Fagerli from ‘Tromsø Art Association’ to curate a 75-minute film program for this year’s theme; BEND IT, MAYBE.

Camilla Fagerli (b. 1986, Vefsn) is an artist, cultural worker and curator living in Tromsø. She is educated at Nordland art and film school in Kabelvåg, and the art academies in Tromsø and Copenhagen. Between 2012-2016 she took part in running the artist-run exhibition space ‘Kurant’. Her practice is most often part of collectives and collaborations, and in recent years - has been driven by questions related to how we can redefine societal and institutional structures in a direction that better corresponds to the democratic values ​​we like to claim we have.

In recent years, Camilla, together with Henrik Sørlid, has edited an anthology about art education and self-organisation in Northern Norway called "Dream Academy". Fagerli represents Tromsø Art Association at AMIFF 2023.
