Andrea Bræin Hovig visits AMIFF in connection with the film Love,(2024) in which she plays the lead role and will be in cinemas from Christmas Day in Norway. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival where it participated in the main competition.

Andrea Bræin Hovig is an actor, singer and writer. She is educated at the Statens teaterhøgskole (1995–1998). She has been employed at the National Theater since 2002, and at Det Norske Teatret 1998–2002.

Andrea Bræin Hovig has worked extensively with film, TV and radio theatre, where she has played several Ibsen roles, among other things. She was nominated for an Amanda award for the films Alt det vakre (All the Beautiful things) and Som du ser meg (As You See Me) and won the Canon Award for Som du ser meg. She was nominated for the Kanonprisen 2018 in the category best female lead in the film An Affair. Received the Kanon prize 2019 and the Amada prize 2020 in the category of best female lead role/actress for her performance in the film Håp (Hope).

She received the Film Critics Association's professional award and was nominated for the Canon Award for the monologue film It's me you want to have. She has published three children's books about Ville Wilma (Cappelen Damm/Gyldendal) and last year came out with the youth novel Vanessa Svartmo (Gyldendal), which was nominated for the U-prize. This year, she came out with her first novel for adults, Siste akt (Final Act).
