Mariken Halle

Director Mariken Halle is one of the most original new voices in the Norwegian film flora. She challenges the distinction between documentary and fiction, in addition to expectations of what constitutes a film narrative. At AMIFF 2020, she presents her latest film WE ARE HERE NOW (Vi er her nå).

Marikan Halle is a member of the production collective ALTERNATIVET which also consists of the filmmakers Magnus Mork, Guro Bruusgaard and Katja Eyde Jacobsen.

Halle is a graduate of Nordland School of Art and Film (2003-2005), and she has a bachelor's degree in film design at the Gothenburg Film Academy (later Akademin Valand) 2007 - 2011. Her previous feature films are MAYBE IN THE MORNING (2011) and THE WORLD WAITS (2014),
